What's On My Mind: Work

Here we go, another round of "let's try to make Jessica feel better about the amount she has to write in the next few weeks."

Due April 23:
Prepare for Passover. (Notes on the seders are coming soon - both were superbly awesome.)

Due May 1:
Abstract for Bryn's RPG anthology.
10-page paper for literary theory class.

Due May 8:
Prepare talk for MIT conference. (Though I'd like to go over it again Saturday night, or maybe in the car on Friday.)
15-page paper on cognitive theories of learning. Status: final draft of 1/2 done, the other 1/2 completely written but totally sucks and needs a complete rewrite (especially in light of what my prof. had to say when I met with her). But if I HAD to hand it in today, I could.

Due May 13th:
Playable version of Wiped! for game design class. Status: almost done!! Thanks to those of you who offered your help, I now only have to write up the introduction to the world and a brief "wishlist" section detailing what I'd do with the game if I were to continue to develop it. I'll be happy when this is complete . . . .

Due May 15th:
15-25 page paper on "radical play" for my social theory class. Status: I made an outline and some notes, which went well. If I weren't also writing a book simultaneously, this paper would be no problem.

Due May 20th:
30,000 words on the RPG-book project. Status: 5,000 words down. Outlining begun for the next section.

There she goes! There goes Jessica! She's a demon with a keyboard!

Now if I could remember the rest of the lyrics to Speed Racer, I might really be able to do you some justice. Betcha didn't know I was a songwriter!

Awesome! You are just trucking right along. No worries there!

I think my analogy with a race car driver is more dynamic.

Ha ha

Jess is so great!
Jess is so great!
Everybody loves her 'cause
Jess is so great!

A limerick:

I believe that the time is now ripe
To inform you: it isn't all hype.
If you're worried 'bout Jess
and think she's in a mess,
Well, you haven't seen this girl type!

It's almost Seussian... :-D

immaculatepizza: You're Doing Great!

Yeah! You can do it!

Words are like children you have, but they take care of themselves and don't burden you in a way that aggravates your feminism!

You are expressing your creativity in a way that is personal, professional, productive, and practical, all at once! Oh the alliteration!

You will end your sentences with many punctuations, as opposed to the exclamation points which I have seen fit to be the sole sentence-enders of this post! Such is the excitement that your frenzied typing fills me with!

Take a break! Play with the cat!

Watch a half-hour of daytime television! Perhaps early-evening network news! Then you'll beg to sit at your computer and write!

Rock on!

By the by, will you be in town to do this MIT thing? If so, wanna hang out?

Thanks, all, for the support - I couldn't do this without you! (Well, I might be able to, but I'd be much more cranky about it . . . .)

I'm heading to Boston, um, right now. arib, I'll be at hakamadare and chaiya's for dinner tonight; otherwise, you can reach me post-shabbat on my cell phone (don't want to post my number here, but Steve has it).
