Revenge of the Bad Movie

I finally saw Episode III and, unfortunately, hated it. As in, I thought it was worse than Episode II, and possibly even worse than Episode I. Seriously. The dialogue was unspeakable, the plot heavy-handed, and the characterization abominable. And, oh, god, Padme makes me ashamed to be a woman. Actually, I just don't want to be a woman anywhere near George Lucas. He seems to have very old-fashioned ideas of what a woman is good for. There were a few good moments (maybe twenty minutes out of the movie), but it really wasn't worth my time to wait for them.

Not that this is news to anyone here, except rscott who told me this movie wasn't an absolute disaster. Sorry, Rob, you were wrong. I could do better in my sleep. Damn your eyes, George. Damn your eyes.

I hope he had a better plot, because that wouldn't be too hard: the boy and I came up with a better plot on our way home from the theater. Seriously. I kind of want to write a treatment for "The Prequels: The Good Versions," but I'm ultimately not as much of a Star Wars fangirl as I used to be, mostly thanks to GEORGE BLOODY GODDAMN LUCAS.

Personally, I think he took whatever plot he had for the finally, and then modified it now that he's getting political. So he basically screwed up his legacy and gave us something that feels stapled together at the last second. You can see more of my thoughts here

I think your not really sharing your emotions, Jess. Tell me how you really feel. ;)

I essentially wrote a short treatment of that sort on my journal a couple of weeks ago. If I had more fangirl in me, I would have tackled the political plot as well as the personal one.
