Con Prep
Getting ready for Origins (this weekend) and GenCon (end of August). These are quite professional events for me, since I'll be looking for more RPG writing work, talking up the games I'm designing, and recruiting subjects for my research at Columbia. Hence, tax deduction! Yay! This post is actually to inquire whether anyone would like to change their mind at the last minute to come with us to Origins, share our room at Origins, share a room at GenCon or have me pick up various gaming paraphenalia for them. Ponder, folks.

I'll be there...just look for the two Montaigne fops pampering the pissed-off cat on a pillow. :) And you shouldn't worry about it not being open. I know the guy running it. He always has extra characters just in case.

Were you involved with last year's event? I thought it was fantastic. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I'm actually trying to costume this year. :) (My dress isn't exactly period, but it is floor-length, bustled and fabulous!)

Yep...me and the Beloved Fiance are reprising our two clueless Montaigne again. And with us always is, of course, Muffin. :-D

I WANT TO GO TO ORIGIIIINS!!!! Unfortunately, I shouldn't go to Origins, for a variety of reasons. Mayhap I shall come to GenCon?

I'd come just to meet you and see all the cool gaming stuff, but I don't have the money, have to work to get money, and I doubt my Angel would understand. ;) Otherwise, I'm jealous and wish I was into designing/making games... ~ RDC

If you can get yourself to Indy, you can crash with us super-cheap (though I'd have to run it by the boy first). Badges are something like $60 though, and you'd have to figure out your transportation. Email me and we'll talk!

I could easily take a Greyhound for dirt cheap and if you could just let me know how much the room would be (at least my share), I just might be able to pull this off. Transportation wouldn't be a big deal, since I'd probably spend most of my time at the convention or places nearby. All in all, it sounds fantastic. :)
