NaNoWriMo, Day 6

Novel update:

Today - 1,542 words
To date - 10,605 words

I'm pleased that I finally broke 10,000 words, but I'm disappointed that I didn't make my 2,000 quota today. I certainly could have, but somehow writing the concluding scene of the chapter was really, really hard and I'm still not very happy with how it ends.

On the bright side, tomorrow's chapter two!

(Anonymous): Whew

Well I'm at 8,244, which is still about 4,000 words short of where I need to be right now. I'm averaging between 2,500 and 3,000 words per chapter, but I always intended for the chapters to be short, so that's fine.

Chapter three is done, and in it I establish a number of potentially problematic cops, reporters, and the possible involvement of the upper echelons of the Roman Catholic Church by way of a little boy with psychic powers.

In Chapter four I'm pretty sure the protagonist is going to inexplicably stumble across his old home, where he will encounter his recently estranged wife and the brother who murdered him. Why does this happen? How can I justify such retarded use of coincedence? Because otherwise he's just a blood junkie with a hole in the back of his head, and more importantly, I can do anything I want! Oh the power! (Actually, I may take massive coincidence out of the picture and have him drawn to the necessary house by way of a spiritual-type connection to the ground upon which it is built, thus taking advantage of one of my pet vampire legends, "the whole dirt thing" ho ho ho)

Body count is still just two, but that should change tomorrow.
