In The Can

Ugh, I'm tired. But, on the bright side, I've got several projects in the can: I finished my application for the assistant/associate professor job at UCSD (which all my East Coast friends are vociferously rooting for me not to get!), and I went up to Boston yesterday for an exhausting round of interviews and the like at the Media Lab. A longer post is coming on pros and cons of various opportunities, but right now I have to call and find out why Columbia still seems to be missing pieces of my application.

I wanted to say thank you to maastrictian, because he totally deserves public props when he's unusually awesome: he stayed up most of the night with me on Monday helping me with my UCSD app, and then stood in line for an hour at the post office. Yay Maas! thran's mom also kicks ass, as I may have mentioned before, for helping me not panic and generally being super-excellent. I hope I get to see her again before she leaves (hint, hint!).

I bought a printer, which means I'm back in the world of people-who-can print. Not only do I not have to bother Rob for printing stuff out, I also get to scan and copy with the same device. One less thing in my desk area makes me a happy girl!
