Girly Gear

So, I’ve got a sparkly gamer bracelet, but I’m always on the lookout for more girly tech gear. Unfortunately, my current two lusts would require me to invest in hardware before I can use them. The iKitty only works with an iPod nano, and mine’s a regular old big iPod; the knitted DS case works for DS only, and I’m still using my old GBA for personal use (though we do have a DS at the lab).

I think I’m going to pull out some of my yarn and make a DS case. When I get the case done, I’ll buy myself a DS to go in it, since I’ve been wanting one for a while. And if that’s not the best knitting incentive you’ve ever heard, I don’t know what is!

Lexicon: Join Now!

Okay, folks: we’re officially beginning A is for Apocalypse!  Please head over to the site and sign up on the roster page, and feel free to start working on your entries.  At Kyle’s suggestion, we’re using a telephone-style grouping of three letters at a time, though if this goes well we’ll do a full one-letter-per-round game.  Entries for ABC are due one week from today.

If you have any questions, post here - but I hope I’ll see at least some of you over at the Society for the Preservation of the Future!

I love the Tournament of Books that Powell’s runs each year, but I have to say: I’m disappointed with how few of this year’s entrants I’ve read.  It’s not that I haven’t been reading (even if I’ve fallen way behind with reviewing my reading list), but I’ve been reading a lot of stuff off my shelves recently instead of keeping up with what’s out there.  For God’s sake, I’m just getting around to Atonement, let alone McEwan’s new novel!  I’m not going to get much reading time in over the next month, so I might just start making myself a pile of summer reading.  Yum.

By the way, don’t ask me what’s up with posting like twelve times in a day.  I’m totally avoiding work.  Can you tell?
