I just signed up to take a playwriting class this semester with Han Ong. (Han Ong!!!) This is doubly exciting as I’ve actually got a new play that I’m working on, and I’m hoping to get the End of the Line gang together to Fringe it next summer.
So where does the foolish come in? Well, I’m taking a full courseload, writing two papers for publication, doing research, presenting said research at least one conference, helping organize a totally different conference, and possibly guest-editing a journal issue. That doesn’t even count personal projects, like getting back in shape, playing a new game every week, and actually seeing the boy now and then!
On the other hand … Han Ong! And the class doesn’t start until October, so if I can’t handle my schedule this semester, I’ll have a month to find it out and pass my spot in the course along to someone else.
I think it’s a good thing I got some serious vacationing done this summer. I doubt I’m going to sleep again until January.
