Money For Nothing

Also today, I got my check from SVA - the first time I've been paid in cold, hard cash (okay, a luke-warm, floppy check) to talk about interactive narrative. I've decided I want to do something special with the money, but I'm not sure what. Any ideas? I've ruled out buying books, because I do that all the time anyways, so I'm looking for suggestions for a memorable splurge object or experience.

Take in a broadway show? Buy a new outfit? Take the boy, rent a car and escape on a weekend roadtrip? buy some fish? buy some movies you've always wanted? buy a picture and have it framed? buy some artwork that makes you go Hmmmmm.... ?? Donate to charity? Throw a party? Go out to dinner at a really expensive resteraunt? go out to eat at a resteraunt you've always wanted to try? invest it? buy jewelry? get yourself some shoes/boots/purse/jacket that you really don't need but would like to have? treat yourself to a day at the spa? save it for a rainy day? .... ??

Oooh, lots of good ideas. I think I'll definitely donate at least 10% of it to charity before splurging on the rest. Thanks, Kel!

Well, if it were me, I might go out and buy some nice clothes for the next time I lecture. :)

I think that's a great idea, but the problem is that I'm actually losing weight again, so any clothes I buy now won't look like much in a few months. I'd wait and buy clothes in a few months, but I want my gratification now, now, now. :)

Maybe I'll buy a nice piece of jewelry, though. I don't wear much, but when I do like a piece I wear it pretty much nonstop, and that doesn't have size issues.
